Please, darkness, swallow me.
Devour and embody me.
Take my last breath,
And hollow me.
Because I can't stand to see another day.
Darkness,
Swallows me whole.
No light,
At the end of this tunnel.
Darkness,
No one even knows.
No light,
And nowhere to go.
Please darkness, swallow me.
Devour and embody me.
Take my last breath,
And hollow me.
Because I can't stand to see another day.
On this wasted fucking earth.
I've been doomed since birth.
But I'm not afraid to admit,
That I'm far from perfect.
Scotland's hardcore,
Northern Unrest.
Join or die, mother fucker.

Wonderful dramatic opening, the voice of a black woman in all her honesty, vulnerability and openess. And then one of the fiercest tracks of Zulu, total hardcore: 'Now they are through with me', full of twists and turns, and suddenly ending in a kind of soul-track, brilliant! This is 21st century music at it's best. The end lecture is dramatic and disturbing, spoken again by a black woman. Makes you think. Hesperus
On their debut record, the London hardcore upstarts cross-up mosh-ready fare with melancholic ambient passages, weeping guitars, and virtuosic vocal harmonies, but its romantic veneer is much more complicated than it seems. Bandcamp Album of the Day Jan 30, 2019
